Our academic language courses, in French or English or both,  will give you all the help you need to adapt your working methods to teaching in France, to discover the specificities of the French education system, to be a leader in teamwork, and finally to write exemplary academic work.

Program Highlights

 

• General and Professional French: Master the basics and navigate the Francophone professional world.
• French for Higher Education: Development of oral and written skills in a university context, with introductory, reinforcement and improvement modules: how to study in France, how to communicate in a university or Grande Ecole, understand an academic text, know how to synthesize information, learn how to write an informative or argumentative academic paper.
• Thematic Workshops: Dive into French culture, fashion, gastronomy, and daily communication.
• Mini-Group Projects: Gain hands-on experience through guided group projects.
• Conversation Practice: Improve your speaking skills in small, interactive groups.

 

You will be integrated into a group at your own level, supervised by a head teacher and specialist module teachers.

 

Schedule and Duration

 

• Sessions 2024-2025: Fall (Oct 28 – Jan 31), Spring (Mar 3 – May 30), Summer (Jun 30 – Aug 29).
• Duration: Flexible options of 3, 6, or 9 months.
• Hours: 20 to 30 hours weekly (up to 36 hours for bilingual sessions).

 

Depending on your level, we suggest one, two or three consecutive sessions.

Registration and Fees

 

• Cost: 2800 euros per session (3300 euros for bilingual sessions).

Frequently Asked Questions – Academic Preparation at ALIP

 

• What is an academic pathway program?

An academic pathway program is designed to help international students prepare for university-level studies in France. It combines French or English language learning, academic methodology, and cultural adaptation to ensure success in higher education.

• Do I need to speak French to join ALIP’s academic program?

No. ALIP offers academic preparation programs for all levels, from A2 to advanced. If you’re planning to join a French-taught university, the course will help you reach the required CEFR level (typically B2). For programs in English, we also provide support in academic English.

• Which universities partner with ALIP?

ALIP collaborates with several higher education institutions in France, in sectors as varied as marketing, business, gastronomy or culture, fashion or management.

• Will I receive a certificate at the end of the program?

Yes. Upon successful completion, you’ll receive a certificate indicating your language level and academic preparation achievements, which can be used during university applications.You can also take your official TCF test at ALIP at any time, to help your future school make the most of your training.

• How long is the academic preparation program?

The academic preparation pathway lasts one, two or three semesters depending on your language level and academic goals. Shorter intensive options are also available. And of course you can combine a quarterly course with one or more monthly courses to fit your schedule.

• How do I apply for ALIP’s academic program? Can I apply for a student visa with this program?

You can apply online via our form here. We will then send you a form to complete so that you can continue your registration online and submit the necessary documents in a secure area.

Our admissions team will guide you through each step.Term courses are eligible for long-term student visas. On receipt of your first payment, we will issue you with your enrolment certificates so that you can start applying for your visa.
